Близо три денонощия след старта на Трансатлантическата ветроходна регата OSTAR, нашият представител Михаил Копанов с яхта Krone One напускат надпреварата. Информацията е от профилите в социалните мрежи на яхт клуб „Порт Бургас“ и клуб „Вятър и вода“.
„В допълнение на вече съобщените проблеми по електрическата инсталация и автопилота, които бяха частично отстранени, Мишо е открил по сериозен проблем с механизма на на ролрифа на стаксела причинено от структурно несъвършенство.
Поради твърде големия риск от скъсване и счупване на мачтата, е взел не лекото решение да прекрати участието си“, пише клубният сайт.
„Следва пътя обратно, което за Мишо няма да е лек, но ние можем само да му благодарим, че в тези няколко дни, ние бяхме част от ветроходната история.
Благодарим на Мишо, Румен и всички десетки други, които участваха и спомогнаха тази мечта.“

“Dear Adrian,
I inform you on behalf of Mihail of the current situation on Krone One:
Last night Mihail found out that somehow all his fresh water from the tank has gone out through a tap that had been somehow incidentally opened because of the slamming and as a result the inside of the boat was flooded. Being heeled on port tack the water has damaged the commandment system above the navigation table on the starboard side below deck. All his electronics have stopped. At the time being he has managed to restore the autopilot to be commanded only from the chart plotter below deck. He has no AIS, no Radar,no wind instruments working.
Unfortunately, subsequently, he found another much more serious problem – there is a structural damage related to the Genoa furling drum attachment to the hull creating risk of dismasting. Because of this latter problem he decided to retire.
Everybody here, in Bulgaria, regrets this outcome, because Mihail did a great race since the start until last night. As owner of SV Krone One I am the one that feels miserable e cause of the fact that my boat could not match the toughness of the skipper.
